Dollar General Literacy Foundation Grant

J.L. Turner was functionally illiterate with only a third-grade education, after his father's death, he quit school so he could work on the family farm and provide for his family. With hard work and determination, Turner went on to co-found Dollar General. Even though he was presented with many obstacles he believed it was never too late to learn! It is the goal of the Dollar General Literacy Foundation to help provide funds to ensure students have literacy-related tools to become better readers.
The Dollar General Literacy Foundation has awarded Central Cass Elementary with a grant in the amount of $1,500. Library Media Specialist, Dana Stansbery, wrote the grant to purchase Science related leveled reading books to be used in Elementary classrooms.
